How the current InstaTranscribe beta handles data

2026/09/15

Current beta

This notice describes the current test version. Commercial privacy terms and an operator contact must be finalized before public launch.

Data used to provide transcripts

When you submit a link, the application sends that Instagram URL to Supadata for metadata and transcription. When video duration is unavailable, the URL is also sent to Apify for metadata. Each provider processes requests under its own policies. Submit only public media you are authorized to process, and do not include sensitive information in test submissions.

The application stores the submitted URL, task status, provider task identifier, timestamps, quota reservations and transcript in its PostgreSQL database. It does not download and store source media in this implementation.

Accounts

Verified accounts are required in production. The application stores account details, sessions, credit grants, reservations and usage history to authenticate users and operate the beta.

Browser storage

Authentication cookies identify your account session. A separate signed guest cookie is used only when local development guest mode is enabled. Browser local storage remembers the most recent task ID so it can be restored after a refresh. Clearing browser storage may remove access to your task; it does not delete the database record.

Retention

Automatic deletion and a self-service deletion interface are not implemented in this beta. Records remain until the test operator removes them. Use non-sensitive test content only. Hosting infrastructure and service providers may maintain their own request logs.
